IIDA was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD); the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID); and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). The goal of the merger was to create an international association with a united mission that would represent interior designers worldwide. Since that date, IIDA has worked to convene communities of interior designers across regions and specialties representing the interests for the entire community.
The International Interior Design Association formed in 1994 through the merger of CFID, IBD and ISID, in search of a Unified Voice for the Interior Design Profession. The IIDA Mission is to “Enhance the quality of life through excellence in Interior Design, and advance Interior Design through knowledge, value and community.” Since 1994, The Association has continued to grow and to strive for excellence in all aspects of professionalism.
Michigan Chapter of IIDA is an organization that enthusiastically strives for professional excellence, advocates good design and promotes social responsibility through the exchange of ideas, networking and the education of our members and the public.
